Electric Gate Repair in Riverside & the Inland Empire
Your gate is the only way in or out, so when it stops we treat it that way. We diagnose the real fault in the board, motor, sensors, or wiring, fix it right, and stand behind the work, day or night.
Owner operated, insured, and local. No call center, no lead seller. We work on slide, swing, barrier, and cantilever gates for homes, HOAs, and businesses.

When the gate quits, the whole property feels it
A stuck automatic gate is more than an inconvenience. It can trap a car in the driveway, leave a business open to the street, or strand an entire HOA at the entrance during the morning rush. We get that, which is why a dead or jammed gate is one of the calls we move on fastest. We are a local, owner operated Riverside business, and the same people who answer the phone are the ones who show up to fix it.
Gates fail for a lot of reasons, and the symptom you see is rarely the whole story. A gate that opens but will not close usually points at a safety sensor, not the motor. A gate that clicks but never moves can be a control board, a seized gearbox, or a power problem upstream. We do not guess and we do not throw parts at it. We run a real diagnostic, find the root cause, and tell you in plain language what is wrong, what it takes to fix, and what it costs before we start. Estimates are free.
We service the gates you actually have around the Inland Empire: residential slide and swing gates, dual swing entries on long driveways, barrier arms at parking lots, and heavy cantilever gates at commercial yards. Whether your operator says LiftMaster, Elite, Eagle, Viking, DoorKing, All-O-Matic, Ramset, Linear, or Mighty Mule, we can usually trace the fault and get you moving again.
Gate symptoms we fix
If your gate is doing any of these, text us a photo of the operator and we will arrive ready with the parts most likely to put it right.
Opens halfway and stops
The gate starts, then quits partway. Often a limit setting, a weak motor, an obstruction in the track, or a battery struggling under load.
Clicks but will not move
You hear the operator engage but nothing happens. Usually a control board fault, a seized gearbox, a stripped gear, or a power issue at the unit.
Reverses on its own
The gate backs off as if something is in the way. Typically a photo eye or edge sensor reading a false obstruction, or a force setting that needs adjusting.
No response to remote or keypad
Pressing the button does nothing. Could be a dead remote battery, lost programming, a failed receiver, a keypad fault, or wiring at the post.
Slams, grinds, or shakes
Harsh closing, grinding metal, or a shudder as it moves points at worn rollers, bad hinges, a dry chain or rack, or a gearbox on its way out.
Opens but will not close
The most common gate call we get. Almost always a dirty or misaligned safety eye or edge sensor, a stuck vehicle loop, or a close limit set wrong.
Intercom or callbox is dead
Visitors cannot buzz in and the gate will not release. We check the callbox, the intercom wiring, the strike or operator relay, and the power supply.
Dead after a power outage
Nothing works once the power comes back. Often a drained or failed backup battery, a tripped board, or a charger that has quietly stopped charging.
How we find the root cause
A gate operator is a chain of systems, and a failure in any one of them stops the whole gate. We work through each link in order instead of swapping the most expensive part and hoping. Here is what we actually check on site.
Incoming voltage, the breaker or GFCI, the transformer, and the supply to the operator. Many no power gates start right here.
The brains of the operator. We test inputs and outputs, look for burnt traces or failed relays, and check the diagnostic LEDs and fault codes.
Open and close limits that tell the gate where to stop. Drift or a bad limit switch makes a gate stop short or grind at the end of travel.
The safety devices that stop the gate from closing on a car or a person. Dirty, misaligned, or failing sensors are the top reason a gate will not close.
The loops buried in the driveway that sense a car to open or hold the gate. A shorted loop or a bad detector can leave a gate stuck open.
We check the motor for heat, current draw, and end play, and the gearbox for stripped or worn gears that cause grinding or a no move fault.
Chain, rack and pinion, or a hydraulic arm depending on your gate. We inspect tension, wear, leaks, and alignment so the drive moves smoothly.
For slide gates we check rollers and the track for debris and wear. For swing gates we check hinges and posts for sag and binding.
The backup batteries and charger that keep the gate working in an outage. We load test them and replace cells that no longer hold a charge.
The receiver, remotes, keypad, and callbox. We test signal, reprogram as needed, and trace wiring faults out to the post.
We tell you the why, not just the what
When we are done you will know exactly what failed and why, what we did about it, and how to keep it from happening again. No vague answers, no surprise add ons after the fact.
Gate types we service
We repair and troubleshoot the full range of automatic gates across the Inland Empire, for single family homes, HOA and apartment communities, and commercial sites.
Slide gates
Rolling and V-track slide gates driven by chain or rack and pinion. We handle rollers, track debris, worn gears, broken chains, and operators that bind or stall mid travel.
Swing gates (single & dual)
Single and dual swing gates on residential driveways and estates. We service arm and ram operators, sagging hinges, posts that have shifted, and gates that no longer meet in the middle.
Barrier arms
Parking and access barrier arms at lots, gated drives, and commercial entrances. We fix arms that stick, drop too hard, fail to raise, or lose sync with loops and ticket equipment.
Cantilever gates
Heavy cantilever gates at warehouses, yards, and industrial sites. We service the rollers, guide assemblies, counterbalance, and high cycle operators these gates depend on.
Gate brands we work with
We diagnose by how the operator behaves, so we are not locked to one manufacturer. These are the gate brands we see and service most often around Riverside and the Inland Empire.
Not sure what you have? The brand and model are usually on a label inside the operator cover. Snap a photo and text it to (909) 264-7415 and we will tell you what we can do.

I contacted them for a motor replacement and could not be happier. Honest, straightforward, and a competitive price. No hidden costs or upselling. The warranty they provided gave me peace of mind.
Our driveway gate stopped closing and we were worried it was a huge job. They found a bad safety sensor, explained exactly what was happening, and had it working that same visit. Fair price and no pressure.
